The Oshawa Generals are off to the second round after a 4-1 win on the road in Brampton Sunday as the Generals topped the Steelheads in a matchup of the Ontario Hockey League’s only two GTA clubs.
Oshawa had a chance to wrap up the series at home Friday but a 6-3 Brampton victory forced a game six back at the CAA Centre.
Owen Griffin, with a pair, Colby Barlow and Luke Torrance scored for Oshawa while Carson Rehkopf had the lone Brampton goal.
Oshawa will now meet Brantford, the number one seed in the east, in a series starting this week at the Brantford Civic Centre.
