This year marks the 107th year of the fair.
WAYNE COUNTY, Pa. — The rides are spinning here at the Greene Dreher Sterling Fair in Newfoundland. It’s a fair activity every kid looks forward to.
“I love the rides; I saw a dragon coaster. It’s like a coaster, a kid coaster, that’s a dragon coaster,” said Ian Jaramillo of Tafton.
“Bring the kids out so they can see all of the animals and ride the rides,” said Adam Vitiello of Greeley.
GDS Fair president Anne Fox tells Newswatch 16 that the fair has been around for 107 years since a local teacher started it all.
“As a way for her students to display their artwork, items, and things they were doing at home, it just grew from there. Her name was Ellen Nevin, and in our merry-go-round, we have a horse dedicated to her,” explained Fox.
