GREENSBORO, N.C. — Over the weekend, Greensboro hosted its very first pickleball tournament, marking a major milestone for the city.

Players competed in USA Pickleball’s Golden Ticket Tournament at the Greensboro Complex. The tournament serves as a qualifier for the USA Pickleball National Championship this fall.

According to the Greensboro Area Convention & Visitors Bureau, the tournament is projected to generate more than $2 million in economic impact for the city.

Officials said the tournament brought together competitors from 19 U.S. states and Canada.
