A Guelph man has been arrested after walking into a home Monday evening.

The Guelph Police Service says just before 7:30 p.m., they received multiple calls about a man yelling in the area of Waterloo Avenue and Hearn Avenue. According to police, a mother and her 13-year-old son were looking out of a second-floor window of their home at a man when they saw him walk towards the house and heard him enter.

Police said the mom and son locked themselves in a second-floor bedroom and could hear the man yelling and walking around the home. Officers arrived a few moments later, entered the home and saw the man walk down the stairs from the second floor, promptly arresting him.

A 51-year-old man was charged with breaking and entering and breaching probation.
