Guelph Police looking for suspect after vehicle was stolen and crashed [Video]

The Guelph Police Service is investigating after a vehicle was stolen from the owner’s driveway and then crashed.

Police say just before 10 a.m. Friday, officers were called to an address on Woolwich Street near Division Street. The owner told police she had placed her car keys on a table near the front door the previous evening, and when she woke up the keys and her car were missing.

A neighbour’s security camera captured video of a male approaching the home. A short time later the footage showed the vehicle being reversed out of the driveway. Through an investigation, officers learned the car was later involved in a collision just outside the city.

Officers spoke to a witness who reported she offered a male driver a lift back to Guelph and dropped him off near Eramosa Road and Victoria Road North.
