An air pistol, which was initially thought to be a handgun, was flashed during a road rage incident in eastern Ontario last week, leading to charges for two men, police say.
Ontario Provincial Police said that shortly after 10 a.m. on Friday, officers received a report from a driver heading eastbound on Highway 401 near the Town of Prescott.
The driver said that the occupant of another vehicle had flashed a handgun following a road rage incident on the highway, police said.
“Officers quickly located the vehicle as it continued northbound onto Highway 416, where a high-risk traffic stop was safely conducted,” OPP said.
“The occupants were arrested and the handgun in question was located inside the vehicle. It was later determined to be an air pistol.”
