Habitant, N.S., man facing drugs and weapons charges [Video]

A Habitant, N.S., man is facing drugs and weapons charges after police searched a home in the community as part of an ongoing investigation.

The Valley Integrated Street Crime Enforcement Unit (VISCEU) arrested a man at a residence on Hwy. 221 on Thursday, prior to searching the home.

“During the search, officers seized two loaded firearms; one in the vehicle and one inside the residence. Officers also seized an unloaded rifle, brass knuckles, pre-packaged cocaine, methamphetamine, and a quantity of cash,” reads a news release from the RCMP.

Dawson Andrew Elliott, 25, was arrested at the residence and has been charged with:

  • possession for the purpose of trafficking (cocaine and methamphetamine)
  • four counts of possession of a weapon for dangerous purpose
  • three counts of unauthorized possession of a firearm
  • three counts of careless use of a firearm
  • possession of property obtained by crime
