A thunderstorm and hail alert has been issued for southern Ontario on Thursday.
There is a risk of isolated or scattered thunderstorms across much of southern and northern Ontario, Environment and Climate Change Canada said in a post on X.
Over extreme southwestern Ontario, winds up to 90 km/h and hail up to two centimetres in diameter are possible late this evening, Environment Canada said.
For the GTA, there is a 30 per cent chance of showers and risk of a thunderstorm during the day and a 40 per cent chance of showers Thursday evening and after midnight. The risk of a thunderstorm continues into the evening and overnight.
Warm temperatures and high humidity are also expected Thursday and Friday.
Thursday’s high is 24 C with a humidex of 31 C. Friday it could also feel like 31 C with a high of 27 C expected.
