One person is dead and another is in custody after a body was found inside a home on 5th Street in Hanover Tuesday morning.

Police say they were called to an “incident” at the 5th Street address around 8:50 a.m., when they discovered a deceased person inside the home.

A short time later, a “vehicle of interest” was spotted near Owen Sound, and one of the occupants was taken into custody.

Charges are pending.

Police are calling this “an isolated incident” and stressed that there is currently “no threat to public safety.”

Both the Hanover Police and South Bruce OPP Crime Unit are working the case.
