Head-on-collision in eastern Ontario sends one to hospital with life-threatening injuries [Video]

A head-on collision northeast of Belleville Wednesday evening has left one person in hospital with serious injuries.

One person had to be extricated from a vehicle by firefighters after officers with the Lennox & Addington OPP, Tyendinaga Township fire department and Hastings Quinte Paramedics all responded to the scene on Shannonville Road, between Shannon Road and Scuttlehole Road just before 7:30 Wednesday night.

The lone occupant of one vehicle was transported to hospital with life-threatening injuries. The three people in the other vehicle suffered only minor injuries.

The investigation by members of the Lennox & Addington County OPP, with assistance from an OPP Collision Reconstructionist and Technical Collision Investigation team, is continuing.
