Two leaders of Brampton’s health-care system have joined Mayor Patrick Brown among the ranks of local recipients of the King Charles III Coronation Medal.
The William Osler Health System announced on Wednesday that CEO and president Dr. Frank Martino has been awarded the honour along with Ken Mayhew, president and CEO of the Osler Foundation.
The medal is awarded to those who have made a significant contribution to Canada or to a particular province, territory, region or community, or have made an outstanding achievement abroad.
Martino and Mayhew were both nominated by Brampton-Centre MP Shafqat Ali for their efforts to advance health care in the region and in providing “high-quality, compassionate care to one of the most diverse and fastest-growing communities in the country.”
