Heat and humidity build, stormier pattern ahead for NCWV [Video]

BRIDGEPORT, W.Va (WDTV) –

It was a very nice Wednesday across NCWV, with nearly cloudless skies and a comfortable amount of humidity. There was a tint of haze on the horizon today due to smoke from the Canadian wildfires still being blown into our region. Light to moderate amounts of smoke will remain in our upper atmosphere on Thursday but will begin to exit north by Friday. Highs on Wednesday were in the low to mid-80s in the lowlands, around 80 degrees in our valleys, and in the mid-70s above 3000’.

We can expect more cloud coverage, increased humidity, and warmer temperatures on Thursday. The only threat of precipitation on Thursday is the possibility of a few isolated PM mountain showers. High temperatures on Thursday may be the warmest we’ve seen so far this year, with our southern lowlands likely breaking into the low 90s.
