Heavy snow and flooding are likely in parts of Ontario this week [Video]

Just as the weather began to settle down with temperatures warming up, it seems Mother Nature isn’t quite done with winter. A Colorado Low is set to bring another round of heavy snow and rain to parts of Ontario this week.

According to Instant Weather Inc., parts of southern Ontario, including Mississauga, Brampton, Halton, Durham, Hamilton, Niagara and the GTA, are expected to see moderate to heavy rainfall.

The combination of prolonged rain and lingering snowpack could lead to urban flooding, particularly in low-lying areas and places with poor drainage.

Meanwhile, Environment Canada is tracking the system with a weather model that illustrates its expected progression. As it moves further north, areas from Owen Sound through Barrie into Muskoka could see rain transitioning to wet snow or freezing rain overnight as temperatures drop.
