After a weekend of mild and wet weather, winter is making its return to southwestern Ontario, with Environment Canada issuing heavy snow and snow squall warnings for Waterloo Region, Stratford, Wellington County and Brant County.
According to Environment Canada, heavy snow is expected in Waterloo Region and Brant County beginning at 2 p.m. Wednesday, which will taper off to lighter flurries by 6 p.m. About two to four centimetres of snow is expected to fall, resulting in reduced visibility.
The weather agency also issued a snow squall warning for Wellington County and Stratford that will begin late afternoon on Wednesday and carry through to Thursday. Around 10 to 20 centimetres of snow is expected to accumulate in Stratford. Between 15 and 30 centimetres of snow is expected to fall in Wellington County by Thursday evening.
