Snowsqualls could come to more areas in southern Ontario.
Watches and warnings were issued for several areas across the province with some regions possibly receiving up to 60 cm of snow by the end of Tuesday.
As of Tuesday morning, Environment and Climate Change Canada had issued watches for areas just north of the GTA including Innisfil, New Tecumseth and Angus, and southwestern Ontario including Stratford and Goderich.
Lake effect snow off Georgian Bay is expected to start late Tuesday afternoon and continue through to Wednesday afternoon, the watch stated. The snow will weaken and move out of the area Wednesday afternoon.
Heavy snowfall could bring total accumulations of 15 to 30 cm, the watch stated.
Drivers should be prepared for reduced visibility at times in heavy snow. Surfaces such as highways, roads, walkways and parking lots may become difficult to navigate due to accumulating snow.
“Travel may be hazardous due to sudden changes in the weather,” the watch stated.
