Winter may be on its way out, but April isn’t offering a smooth transition into spring just yet. While temperatures are trending upward, southern Ontario can expect a mix of sunshine, rain and even some lingering snow as the month unfolds.

According to the Farmers’ Almanac, April will start on a cool note, with sunny skies in the east and a mix of rain and snow across western regions from April 1 to 4.
From April 5 to 9, northern Ontario is in for another blast of heavy snow, while southern areas will see steady rain and temperatures remaining below seasonal averages.
Mid-month brings a shift toward milder conditions. Between April 10 and 17, northern Ontario can expect plenty of sunshine, while the south remains rainy but warm.
