As the United States continues to threaten and impose sweeping tariffs on a number of products, a new target has emerged — movies that are filmed outside of the United States.President Donald Trump floated the idea Sunday of 100% tariffs on any film produced outside of the U.S. Trump called out incentives offered by foreign countries as both an effort to sway American sentiment and a national security threat. Countries like Canada, Australia, Hungary and more offer international productions tax incentives, rebates or grants to film in their countries.
