High-end scotch heist leads police to stolen vehicle and charges for Brampton man [Video]

The theft of high-value bottle of scotch from an Ontario liquor store has led to charges for two men including one from Brampton.

The incident happened on Sunday just before noon when officers with the Collingwood and The Blue Mountains OPP were called about a theft in progress at the LCBO in Thornbury, approximately 75 kilometres east of Barrie.

Police say two male suspects entered the store and fled with several bottles of high-end scotch worth around $800.

Officers later spotted the suspect vehicle in Collingwood and initiated a traffic stop, but say , the driver took off “at a high rate of speed and violated the right-of-way at several intersections.”

The suspects were then spotted travelling west towards the Blue Mountain ski hills and police say they located the abandoned vehicle in a ski lodge parking lot.
