The eastbound lanes of Highway 16 near Niton Junction in Yellowhead County were closed early Tuesday morning because of a semi truck on fire.
RCMP did not say how the fire at Range Road 121, between Niton Junction and Nojack, started but did confirm no one was hurt.
They first issued a traffic advisory at 4:30 a.m., asking all motorists to avoid the area and expect delays.
As of 7 a.m., the road was still closed, according to 511 Alberta.
