A video capturing a tense encounter between a hiker and a grizzly bear in Canada has gone viral on TikTok.

The video, shared by user @izzybob209, has amassed more than 33 million views since it was posted on May 9. The clip shows the large bear trailing the hiker along a forest trail in Banff National Park, which is located in the Canadian Rockies in the Alberta province.

The footage begins with the animal seen at a short distance from the hiker, steadily walking in the same direction.

As the bear closes in, a voiceover calmly narrates the experience. “Still following me,” the hiker says. “But you gotta remain calm and don’t run…got the pepper spray at the ready.” The bear, showing no signs of aggression, continues its pace as the video cuts out.
