The Masonic Temple building in downtown Billings has a new owner.

The Widmyer Corporation, an existing downtown property owner, closed on the historic downtown building Thursday afternoon. The property on the corner of North Broadway and 3rd  Avenue North, across from Alberta Bair Theater has been mostly vacant and for sale for over five years.

“We are excited that the plywood that’s been on the street level windows is coming down very soon,” Downtown Billings announced in a Facebook post.

“Having this beautiful and historical building in downtown vacant and boarded up directly across the street from the Alberta Bair has been a pain point for the downtown stakeholders,” DBA Outreach Director Lindsay Richardson said. 

“The Alberta Bair brings thousands of visitors a year to their beautiful venue and those visitors either walk past the Masonic Temple or see it upon entering the ABT,” she said. “Having the Masonic Temple …
