KSNF/KODE — Folks along the Jefferson Highway may notice several historic military vehicles on the route this week.

The Military Vehicle Preservation Association’s Jefferson Highway convoy is traveling the historical route this month.

It’s the 8th transcontinental convoy for the group.

It began October 1 near the Minnesota-Canadian border and will end in New Orleans at the end of the month.

The convoy will begin in Fort Scott Monday morning, with stops at Franklin Community Park and the Crawford County Historical Museum in Pittsburg.

Tuesday, the convoy will go by Pittsburg Middle School and venture through downtown Pittsburg, before heading to Big Brutus for the night.

The group will then briefly stop at Joplin’s old airport terminal Wednesday before traveling through Vinita, Oklahoma, and stopping in Muskogee, Oklahoma that night.
