Homicide in Barrhaven: Ottawa police identify man, 58, found dead near Stonebridge Golf Course [Video]

The Ottawa Police Service has identified a 58-year-old man who was found dead in the city’s Barrhaven neighbourhood on Friday night.

He has been identified as Wilson Sabarros of Ottawa. 

Police say they were called to a home in the area of Pondhollow Way and Golflinks Drive, near the Stonebridge Golf Course, at around 5:15 p.m.

The man was found inside the home and was pronounced dead at the scene, officers told CTV News Ottawa.

Police say no arrests have been made but don’t believe there is a risk to public safety. 

Pondhollow Way was closed to vehicles as the homicide unit investigated the scene late into the evening. A home at 6 Pondhollow Way is taped off and a police car remained at the scene, as of Saturday morning.

“The investigation is in its early stages and we’re unable to provide additional information at this time,” police said in a statement on Saturday.

It’s the first homicide death in Ottawa this year.
