Houston Weather Forecast: Thursday is sunny and chilly and light freeze expected Friday morning [Video]

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) — Most of SE Texas fell below freezing this morning and some areas north and west of Houston dropped to hard freeze territory. Luckily, the sun has come out which will allow our temperatures to rise into the upper 30s/low 40s.

The Extreme Cold Warning will expire at noon Thursday.

Tonight will be another chilly one with temperatures dropping to near or below freezing for much of SE Texas. It shouldn’t be quite as cold as Thursday morning though. Unfortunately the clouds will be making a comeback Friday which should limit highs to the upper 30s. A Cold Weather Advisory will be in effect from 8 pm Thursday to noon Friday.

Rain chances return over the weekend and we warm back up into the 70s by Monday.
