OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) – Your favorite beer could soon become a little more expensive.

The Trump administration is promising a 25 percent tariff on all steel and aluminum imports.

Omaha businesses like Crescent Moon are already bracing for the potential impact. The Blackstone beer house is known for its Rueben sandwiches and its wide selection of drinks.

“Our main focus has always been supporting craft beer,” said Bill Baburek, the owner of Crescent Moon.

A lot of that craft beer sells in aluminum cans. Baburek said over the years they’ve sourced their cans from Canada, Mexico, and South America.

“For a while there, we were sourcing them wherever we could get them,” Baburek said. “Now, the market is much more stable and now we can get them without searching too much.”
