The interstate highway has reopened in both directions.

ONTARIO, Ore. — Update: As of roughly 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Oregon Department of Transportation has reopened Interstate 84 in both directions. All closures have been lifted for U.S. 30, OR 204, and OR 245 as well. 

Update: As of 11 a.m. on Wednesday, the Oregon Department of Transportation (ODOT) announced more closures of roads due to high winds.

  • Interstate 84 westbound is closed for truck traffic from Exit 374 (3 miles west of Ontario) to Exit 302 (Baker City) due to high winds. Local only traffic at this time. 
  • I-84 westbound is closed between Exit 302 (Baker City) to Exit 256 to ALL traffic due to winds. 
  • U.S. 30 is closed, local freight and passenger vehicles only. 
  • No access to I-84 for commercial vehicles. 
    • I-84 remains closed in both directions between Exit 265 (4 miles east of La Grande) and Exit 216 (7 miles east of Pendleton)
  • OR 204, OR 245 are closed …
