Idaho attorney general pushes to override veto on vaccine mandate bill [Video]

BOISE, Idaho – Idaho Attorney General Raúl Labrador is urging the state legislature to override Governor Brad Little’s recent veto of a bill banning government-imposed vaccine and mask mandates.

Governor Little vetoed the Medical Freedom Act over the weekend. In a letter explaining his decision, he said that he supports medical freedom, but he also argued that the bill as written removes parents’ freedom to ensure their children stay healthy in school.

Idaho already prevents businesses from requiring COVID vaccines. The proposed bill aimed to expand this by blocking local and state governments, private and public schools and colleges and universities from requiring medical interventions, including vaccines.

“The Medical Freedom Act is the defining bill of this session — one that would protect Idahoans from government-imposed vaccine and mask mandates,” Labrador said.

For the veto to be overridden, both the Idaho House and Senate need two-thirds support. However, the odds …
