Impact of Trump tariffs lingers over St. Louis business owners [Video]

MARYLAND HEIGHTS, Mo. — President Donald Trump signed an order imposing tariffs on all imports from Mexico, Canada and China over the weekend. Now the three countries are retaliating

Trump ordered that items coming from Mexico and Canada be taxed 25% and items from China be taxed 10%.

Canada is matching Trump’s 25% tariff with an equal tax on American exports, Mexico said it will retaliate with similar tariffs of its own and China is filing a lawsuit with the World Trade Organization. 

Meanwhile many businesses in the St. Louis area are bracing for the tariffs impact. Owners are trying to figure out what the direct hit will be and how it will influence their customers.
