Three months in the brand-new Whitby Health Centre has found a home in the hearts of local residents, with the urgent care centre – which also offers diagnostic imagery and some lab services – seeing upwards of 40,000 clients a month in its west Whitby location.
That’s a marked upswing from the previous location in downtown Oshawa, with Keith White, the CEO of the Oshawa Clinic Group, noting the move was made because “we outgrew the old location.”
The new clinic in Whitby, which held its grand opening Oct. 25 but had been open for a business for a few months prior, is much larger, with 60 doctors on hand – and more arriving in the coming weeks – representing 40 per cent of all medical practitioners at the group’s four locations.
