Internationally wanted child sex fugitive has ties to Atlanta [Video]

ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) – An internationally wanted fugitive with ties to metro Atlanta is on the run from child sex crime charges.

Sherman Lavar Jackson, 45, is considered armed and dangerous; authorities said he has been on the run for nearly 15 years.

According to Atlanta News First’s sister station WOIO, Jackson is among the nine most wanted criminals by the G7 Unit, an initiative under the U.S. Marshals Service that tracks wanted child sex offenders across the G7 countries: Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, the United Kingdom and United States.

Jackson faces six rape charges and one count of gross sexual imposition. Police said his alleged victims were girls under the age of 13.
