Expect a big temperature drop this weekend as freezing cold weather returns to the GTA and southern Ontario.

Milder, unseasonably warm weather has dominated this week with snow returning on election day Thursday. More snow is expected on Friday before temperatures take a nose dive.

The Weather Network forecasts up to 10 cm of snow on Friday afternoon.

The high on Friday could reach 2 C and lows are down to -3 C but the wind chill could make it feel like -13 C in the morning, according to Environment and Climate Change Canada.

On Saturday, GTA residents could wake up to flurries and lows down to -15 C. The high will be around -1 C. With the wind chill, it could feel like -19 C in the evening.

It is expected to be mostly cloudy on Saturday.
