Jan. 14 weather: Cold temperatures and snow squall warnings for southern Ontario [Video]

It’s expected to be a cold day across southern Ontario with some areas under snow squall warnings on Tuesday.

Environment and Climate Change Canada says the Greater Toronto Area should see cloudy skies throughout the day, while some areas north and west of the city could see significant snowfall on Tuesday.

The daytime high will be around -5 C in Mississauga, Brampton and Toronto but will feel more like -18 C in the morning and -13 C in the afternoon, the agency says.

Skies should remain cloudy throughout the day and into the evening with a northwest wind blowing around 30 km/h becoming light later in the day.

The overnight low will be around -9 C but will feel more like -13 C with the wind chill.

While the GTA isn’t expected to see snow, warnings have been issued in several parts of the province as some areas could see up to 60 cm of snowfall by Tuesday night.
