Toronto police are searching for six suspects who are wanted in connection with a smash-and-grab style robbery at a jewelry store at Fairview Mall.
Police said they were called to the shopping centre near Sheppard Avenue and Don Mills Road in North York at around 1:15 p.m. for reports of a robbery.
In a news release, Toronto Police Service said that six males wearing masks and gloves attended the jewelry store and took out hammers, which they used to break the glass into the store.
They then allegedly smashed the display cabinets and removed a large quantity of jewelry before exiting the mall and fleeing in a waiting vehicle.
Police said while leaving the mall property, the driver of the vehicle was involved in a collision. That crash knocked down a pole and injured the driver of the other vehicle. They were taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
