Jewelry store targeted by masked robbers in attempted heist in Grimsby, Ontario [Video]

Police are searching for four suspects after an attempted break-in at a jewelry store in Grimsby, a town in the Niagara Region, where the store’s windows were smashed with hammers before the group fled the scene in a vehicle on Saturday.

Niagara Regional Police say three suspects, all wearing masks and carrying backpacks, walked into Harmony Jewellers on Main Street West shortly after 3 p.m. and began acting suspiciously.

Staff quickly implemented theft prevention measures, to stop the suspects from gaining further access to the store.

Officers say the trio then left without taking anything and met up with a fourth individual outside.

Once outside, the suspects used what police believe were sledgehammers to smash the store’s exterior windows before running away on foot.
