June 5 weather: Showers and risk of thunderstorms in southern Ontario [Video]

There are showers and a risk of thunderstorms expected on Thursday in the Greater Toronto Area and southern Ontario.

Environment Canada says Thursday’s forecast is calling for a few showers in the morning with cloudy conditions across the GTA.

There’s a 40 per cent of more showers later in the morning in Toronto, Mississauga, Brampton and Oshawa, and a 30 per cent chance in Hamilton.

The weather agency says there’s also a risk of thunderstorms throughout the morning and afternoon across the GTA.

The daytime high is expected to be around 20 C in Mississauga.

Thursday night is expected to be mostly clear in the GTA, while Hamilton and Niagara Falls could see more showers into the evening.

Friday is expected to bring a mix of sun and cloud and a high of around 24 C in Mississauga, with similar conditions expected through the weekend.
