June 6 weather: Smoke and high near 25 C in southern Ontario [Video]

It could be a smoky and warm end to the work week with cloudy skies and a high around 25 C expected in the Greater Toronto Area and across southern Ontario.

Environment Canada says Friday’s forecast calls for mainly cloudy skies in the GTA, clearing in the afternoon.

There could be lingering smoke from wildfires in the afternoon, following Environment Canada issuing a special air quality statement on Thursday for Mississauga, Brampton, Hamilton, Oshawa and much of the province.

The daytime high is expected to be around 24 C in Mississauga, but could feel as warm as 28 C with the humidity.

Friday evening is expected to be partly cloudy with hazy conditions, and an overnight low around 13 C in Mississauga.
