Justin Trudeau Response to Trump Tariff ‘Psychodrama’ Goes Viral [Video]

A clip of Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau giving a curt but humorous response to a question about the shifting situation with tariffs is going viral online.

A reporter asked Trudeau how he would characterize the sudden tariffs reprieve from U.S. President Donald Trump, after Canada’s foreign minister called it all a “psychodrama.”

“Thursday,” replied Trudeau, to laughs.

Newsweek has contacted Trudeau’s office for comment via email.

Why It Matters

On Tuesday, Trump imposed the long-threatened 25 percent tariffs on imports from Canada and Mexico, escalating trade tensions and prompting swift retaliatory measures. But on Thursday, the U.S. president once again temporarily delayed tariffs on many goods from the two countries until April. In early February, he had held off on imposing the tariffs for 30 days.
