OTTAWA — Justin Trudeau issued a rallying call Sunday night to the Liberal party, urging it to unite and safeguard a legacy of progressive change in the face of what he called an “existential” economic crisis caused by Donald Trump.

“I am damn proud of what we’ve done over these past 10 years,” said Trudeau, “but tonight is about our future as a party, as a country.”
