The Calgary Flames game in Los Angeles on Wednesday night has been postponed due to the wildfires raging through the area.
The Los Angeles Kings announced the postponement on social media.
“Our hearts are with our entire Los Angeles community,” the team said in the post.
“We appreciate the hard-working first responders who are diligently working to contain the fire and protect our community.”
At least four separate blazes were burning in the metropolitan area on Wednesday. Nearly 1,000 structures have been destroyed and two people have been killed.
At least 70,000 residents have been ordered to evacuate.
“In light of the devastating effects of the wildfires in the Los Angeles area, tonight’s game between the Los Angeles Kings and Calgary Flames at Crypto.com Arena, NHL Game No. 653, has been postponed,” the NHL said in a statement.
“The thoughts of the entire NHL family are with the Kings, hockey fans and the people of the Los Angeles area during this difficult time.”
