LANES CLOSED: Another week of traffic delays as watermain project pushed back in Brampton [Video]

Lane closures have been extended for a second time leading to an extra week of traffic delays for watermain repairs in Brampton.

In March, Peel Public Works put lane reductions in place in all directions at McLaughlin Road and Queen Street West for watermain repairs with an expected completion date around April 7.

That work was delayed until April 11 due to heavy rain in Brampton and across southern Ontario, and Peel Public Works now says the closures have been extended until at least April 16.

Peel Public Works hasn’t said what’s led to the latest delay but says traffic could be snarled in the area until the work is completed.

“Expect delays or use alternate route,” the region said in an update posted on social media.
