ROCHESTER, Minn. – On Aug. 27, hundreds gathered at Watson Park to check out the last ‘Safe City Nights’ in Rochester.
The event is hosted by the Rochester Police Department to help create positive relationships with law enforcement and the community. Throughout this summer, six gatherings were held in every ward of the city.
Each night included free food catered by Canadian Honker along with fun interactive activities with police officers, firefighters and other public safety partners. We asked the department how this summer went.
RPD Officer Charlie Arendts says, “you know the weather has been beautiful, we’ve had over a thousand people at each event, we couldn’t ask for better weather all year long. It has just been wonderful, we appreciate the public coming out to every one of our events.”
