FOND DU LAC, Wis. (WBAY) – The Fond du Lac-based boating manufacturer, Mercury Marine, is joining their parent company, Brunswick Corp, on one of the biggest stages in the tech world.

Both companies will be collaborating at this year’s consumer electronics show in Las Vegas to showcase the latest developments in boating intelligence, including AI assistance with docking, and an artificial co-pilot.

Brunswick Corp says that one of their main goals is to keep the boating experience in the hands of the driver, and not take it away with the new technology.

“Operating the machine is part of the experience, that’s what they want to do. So, what the added intelligence is more to take the stress out of those more challenging situations,” David Foulkes, Chief Executive Officer/Director of Brunswick Corp, said.

The consumer electronics show will be ongoing through this Friday.
