The Lethbridge Hurricanes don’t play much at home over the next 18 days, and they made the most of it Tuesday night against the Moose Jaw Warriors.
The Hurricanes got out fast, taking a 2-0 lead after the first period on goals from Tristen Doyle and Vojtech Port, and built it from there to a commanding 6-2 win over the Warriors.
After a relatively quiet first period, both teams combined for five goals in the middle frame.
Moose Jaw pulled to within a goal on a power play goal from Ethan Semeniuk, but Lethbridge matched that on a power play goal of their own from Logan Wormald midway through to make it 3-1 Hurricanes.
Nineteen seconds later, Ethan Hughes scored for Moose Jaw to make it a one-goal game again, but a couple minutes later, Cameron Norrie restored the lead to two goals at 4-2.
