Lethbridge Hurricanes defeat Calgary Hitmen 4-1 [Video]

The Lethbridge Hurricanes kicked off the second half of the season with a win Friday night, topping the Calgary Hitmen 4-1.

The defeat ended a four-game Hitmen winning streak.

Lethbridge jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first period on goals 55 seconds apart from Tristen Doyle and Logan Wormald.

Calgary cut the lead midway through the second period, when Brandon Gorzynski scored his fourth goal of the season, but that was all they would get.

Late in the second, Doyle scored again to restore a two-goal lead for the Hurricanes.

In the third, Brayden Edwards cashed in on an empty netter to make the final 4-1.

Jackson Unger stopped 30 shots to get the victory for Lethbridge.

Easton Daneault picked up his first point in his WHL debut.

Next up for the Hurricanes is a Saturday night road game against the Tigers in Medicine Hat at 7 p.m.
