Little Canada woman dies in Sherburne County Jail [Video]

The woman was found unresponsive Tuesday morning.

ELK RIVER, Minn. — A woman died in the Sherburne County Jail this week, authorities said. 

According to the Anoka County Sheriff’s Office, which is investigating the death, the woman was found unresponsive in her cell just after 6 a.m. Tuesday. 

The woman, identified as 23-year-old Tyrah Shawnice Davis, of Little Canada, was declared deceased after officials say first responders tried to save her. 

No information about what led to her death was made available by authorities. The Anoka County Sheriff’s Office is investigating, per protocol, along with the Midwest Medical Examiner’s Office.
