The one-hour drama is the longest made-for-television series in Canadian history.

McKearney and his band will be performing four songs with his actual name featured and highlighted in the episode.

That’s unusual, as most will be given a ‘character’ name, but not so this time.

McKearney calls Calgary home and you might be familiar with a few of his songs which have been played locally on 99.7 Sun Country.

He won the Fans Choice Award and Roots Artist of the Year at the 2023 Alberta Country Music Awards. He’s also performed on the Coca-Cola Stage at the Calgary Stampede.

Most of the filming is done in the Foothills, including High River, where the famous Maggie’s Diner is located.

His latest song ‘Tomorrow’ will be featured in the episode on CBC television or GEM this Sunday night.
