LOUISVILLE, Ky. — A community of support showed up at Alberta O. Jones park on Sunday to help a Louisville man fight kidney disease.

Kevin Wilson was diagnosed with the disease and looking for a match to undergo a kidney transplant to save his life.

His friend Marcus Edwards said the “Help Kevin Kick Kidney Disease” event was a way to put more eyes on finding a potential donor.

“They might feel the urge or the need, God might move them in that way to donate to Kevin and save his life. [I] had the perfect stranger see my message and donate it to me so lightning can strike twice, and we’re hoping it does today for Kevin,” Edwards said.

Wilson was thankful for the support and turnout.

“[It] let’s me know there’s a God,” he said.
