Mail delivery issues continue in parts of southern Ontario on Friday after wintry weather hammered much of the region.

Canada Post said in a statement that a red delivery service alert remains in effect for Midland, Orillia and their surrounding areas.

A red service alert means that delivery and collection are suspended for the day.

The Greater Toronto Area and Niagara Region are under a yellow delivery service alert.

“A yellow service alert means we are going to do our best to deliver, but there may be delays. This includes mail collection,” Canada Post said.

Southern Ontario got hit with a massive winter storm on Wednesday into Thursday.

Snowsqualls also developed afterwards in some areas, including Midland and Orillia, which dumped even more snow.

And this weekend, southern Ontario is expected to get hit with another big storm, with 30+ cm possible in many areas.
