Maine Instrument Flight opens pilot training location in Bangor: ‘we’re ready to start flight training’ | Local News [Video]

BANGOR — It’s a call to all aviation enthusiasts. The Bangor International Airport (BIA) and an Augusta-based organization announced on Thursday, November 21, that they’re opening a flight school.

Training pilots since 1946, Maine Instrument Flight (MIF) is one of the oldest civilian flight schools in the country.

The new flight school is located at BIA’s General Aviation Terminal.

“We’re here in Maine, we’re part of your community, and we’re ready to start flight training,” said Chad Morris, Owner and CEO of MIF.

With the addition of Bangor, Morris says MIF now has three flight schools in Maine with the other two located in Augusta and Brunswick.

The flight school also provides veterans an opportunity to use military education benefits.
