Weather warnings from Environment Canada are in place across southern Ontario with a major system set to hit the region.
It already began impacting parts of southwestern Ontario as of Wednesday morning, and is expected to bring plenty of precipitation.
In southern parts of the region, a rainfall warning is in place.
“With thunderstorms expected, rainfall amounts may exceed 50 mm over some areas, particularly over southwestern Ontario,” it reads.
Further north, a rainfall warning is also in place, advising of 20 to 40 mm of rain, with locally higher amounts, potentially higher than 50 mm.
Some areas are also under a freezing rain warning, in addition to the rainfall warning. That includes the Greater Toronto Area, Hamilton, and London.
In parts of the GTA including Toronto, Mississauga, and Brampton, “minor ice accretion” is possible. Locations close to the lake are expected to remain above the freezing mark.
